Parents- What do you think of this product idea?
Parents- I have an unmet need project due next week and need your input.
My team has developed a child’s wrist watch that is embedded with a cellular tracking device and 3 buttons to call mom or dad. Parents can go online and track thier childs location and receive alerts if the child goes outside of a pre-determined zone.
Mom or Dad can also communicate with the child by calling the watch or by using text to voice technology – no one else can call the watch but those designated by the parents. We are targeting the age group 4-8, as this group and we focused on the safety aspect of this device, as opposed to the cell phone aspect. Our device is 100% child friendly and safe.
Would this be something that you would buy for your child if it was offered as an option in a cell phone family plan? Would you switch your cell phone provider to gain access to this feature? What would do you believe would be a reasonable amount of money to pay for a SafeWatch?
I believe this is a good idea that I would use. I would say no more than $50 for the watch and $20/month for service.
